Mark Shulgan is Managing Director and Head of OMERS Growth Equity, which he launched in 2018. He co-leads software investing and currently serves on the boards of TouchBistro, Celigo and Dialpad and is a board observer of PandaDoc.

Prior to joining OMERS, Mark helped start and then led the Thematic Investing team at CPP Investments. At CPP Investments, Mark oversaw a $5B investment portfolio comprised of public and private investments in technology, healthcare and consumer companies located in North America, Asia and Europe. Mark was the Chair of the Thematic Investing Investment Committee and a member of the Active Equities Investment Committee that oversaw an investment portfolio of more than $50B. Prior to CPP Investments, Mark was a Vice President at Fortress Investment Group. He began his career as an investment banker at Scotiabank.

Mark is a graduate of Western University where he received a B.A. and graduated with the Gold Medal and the University of Windsor where he received an M.B.A.

Mark grew up in Windsor, Ontario and while a proud Canadian, he feels part American having lived across the border from Detroit where he spent his formative years being exposed primarily to US news and sports. Two of his favourite books are The Hard Things about Hard Things by Ben Horowitz and East of Eden by John Steinbeck. If Mark was not an investor, he would be a documentary filmmaker and still plans to cross that off his bucket list one day.  While not in the office you can find Mark surfing or snowboarding, eating well and hanging out with family and friends.
